Records Management Consultant Locations: various across the US

Primary Duties: Works in partnership with the customer to formulate business, organizational, and records & information management (RIM) technology strategies.

Proposes/develops methodologies for business and RIM solutions: Defines requirements, applies analytical techniques, creates supporting documentation, provides justification, recommends solutions, and distills lessons learned. Leads/supports teams working on complex, large scale projects/tasks.

Qualifications: Education and job history must demonstrate skills and experience with research, assimilation of information from a wide variety of sources, analysis of complex processes, development of alternatives, and design/presentation of business and RIM solutions. CRM or qualified CRM candidate desirable.

Analyst with Active Top Secret Government Security Clearance Locations:
  • Stephens City/Winchester, VA-Night and Day positions
  • Washington, DC area-Day positions only
  • Primary Duties: This position requires the candidate already possess Active Top Secret Clearance. Provide research, analytical, and reporting services for authorized organizations. Access and research files in a variety of media (paper and electronic information) and research them, applying policy guidance and sound judgment to summarize and report findings from available and appropriate information within legal and policy constraints.

    Qualifications: Candidate must have active Government Top Secret Clearance.

    Candidates with skill sets in the area of investigative and/or records searches is a plus.

    Ability to:

  • Conduct computer based research,
  • Work with a variety of computer systems,
  • Have excellent writing skills,
  • Communicate and work cooperatively with others,
  • Work independently as part of an integrated team and display high self-motivation,
  • Understand and comply with provided training and guidance,
  • Analyze and interpret both written and electronic textual information,
  • Review and edit/summarize written documents, and
  • Maintain meticulous records and logs.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience providing support to a Federal government program or organization, either directly or as a consultant/contractor.

    Records Management Consultant/Analyst Location: Greater Washington DC area

    Primary Duties: Conduct interviews with the offices to determine their business processes which create records. Analyze records to identify those that have applicable previously-drafted records disposition schedules, if any. Draft records disposition schedules for unscheduled records proposing records dispositions, including file cutoff and retention requirements. Prepare documentation for the file and for submittal related to these activities. Assist in planning and in resolving complex issues related to the scheduling of records requiring research, analysis, documentation, and technical support. Propose and develop methodologies for solutions to information, records management, and process issues and processes. Provide necessary input for records database, and integrate as part of the records management team, leading various tasks as needed and to fill in as required.

    Qualifications: Five years of experience in inventorying Federal records and applying existing records retention schedules to these records to establish their retention and disposition schedules. For records that have not been previously scheduled, it is required to draft a proposed disposition in a form that may be reviewed and submitted to the National Archives and Records Administration for approval. The candidate will possess good interviewing skills, oral, written and analytical skills. A solid knowledge of the requirements and process for the scheduling of Federal records is required. Bachelors degree is a plus. Millican & Associates equates two years of related experience to one year of college.

    This position will require the potential candidate to successfully complete a Government Security Clearance investigation.
